CNN主持Jack Cafferty 的辱华言论

CNN的 Jack Cafferty 在四月九日晚的"The Situtation Room"节目里回答主持人Wolf Blitzer 的提问,用“goons and thugs" （黑帮和罪犯）来形容中国人，并声称“50年来一直如此”。原文如下：
Wolf Blitzer: "...This is a very diferent China today, that would be inexistent 10 years ago, certainly 20 or 30 years ago. This communist regime today of capitals, regime of huge economic, super power that allows the United States to maintain the economic relationship with China."
Jack Cafferty: "Well, I don't know if China is any different, but our relationship with China is certainly different. We're in hawk to the Chinese up to our eyeballs because of the war in Iraq, for one thing. They're holding hundreds of billions of dollars worth of our paper. We also are running hundred of billions of dollars worth of trade deficits with them, as we continue to import their junk with the lead paint on them and the poisoned pet food and export, you know, jobs to places where you can pay workers a dollar a month to turn out the stuff that we're buying from Wal- Mart. So I think our relationship with China has certainly changed. I think they're basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they've been for the last 50 years." (我不知道中国是不是有所改变，但我们与中国的关系显然已经不同了。在中国人眼里我们因发动伊拉克战争是彻底的抢劫。他们拥有几千亿美元的美元储备，并对我们保持上千亿美元的贸易顺差，因为我们不断地进口他们含铅油漆的垃圾和有毒的儿童食品，同时把工作机会让给中国人，那里你只要给工人们哪怕一美元的月薪，他们就愿意生产那些我们每天从沃尔码买来的东西。因此我想我们和中国的关系当然改变了，但我认为50年来他们一直是那群坏蛋和暴徒。)

这种明显带有种族歧视性的语言虽然不是Cafferty作为主持人的时候说的，但其强烈的偏见使我们怀疑其在主持节目的时候能否做到公正与客观。仅管言论自由如美国，骂总统是“坏蛋”可以，但这种公然侮蔑一个种群是“坏蛋”的言论也是不可原谅的，所以此论一出，不仅华人社区反响强烈，美国其它族裔也指责此公言论无益于中美关系，无益于中国持续改善民生和民主，是在挑战美国百年斗争得来的种族公平原则，挑战道德和法律。

当然，我们表达愤怒该集中在对Cafferty种族偏见言论的声讨，而不是CNN，因为CNN不会对任何人禁声，声讨CNN是幼稚的；强调的也该是这厮所触犯的法律，而不是虚无的“伤害了中国人民的感情”。
另一方面，我们静下心来想一想，当Cafferty因一个词受到声讨的时候，我们在指责别人时是否也该理性？如果象愤青们那样对藏民叫骂，是否也有种族主义倾向？如果对FCC的complain letter 充满了这种叫骂声，我相信那也将是无益于事的。
